Alone

Being on your own affects your health,

you talk in whispers to yourself,

you walk among old photographs,

and live off scraps of loves and laughs.

You leave your gearstick in reverse,

and tell yourself it could be worse.

They say we’re born and die alone,

the saddest solace ever known.
