I sometimes happen on a hidden view,
a glimpse of how my life was meant to be,
I stumble on the lens to see it through,
and it looks so achievable to me.
By chance the pieces tumble into place,
unlocking a utopian design,
a better life I hunger to embrace,
in moments when the elements align.
I try to steal its secrets but it fades,
a feral wisp that won’t be brought to heel,
an evanescent phantom which evades,
attempts to pin it down and make it real.
You truly have a gift.
